Grades Concept

The Great American Ski School (The GASS)
Instructing, instead of teaching a “right” way to ski.

CLASS LEVELS

Class Levels build one upon another to guarantee an orderly advance in technique.

The most helpful preparation
for learning any technique
is trying to rhythmically ski
the prior Level’s turn
on familiar terrain.

A Rhythmic Form links together five, or more, of the
same maneuver in a regular
tempo, thus creating a
sense of artistry.

to view videos of its
Preparatory Rhythmics.

Perfecting Rhythmic Skiing
takes a lot of practice
providing not only the best
review but also the quickest
way to advance.

A DVD for each Class Level
makes orderly learning
of its technique possible.

Each technique has the same turn variations known as Grades:

Long radius on easy terrain to introduce each technique.
Short radius for speed control on its steeper terrain.
Medium radius to get used to the speed of the next level.
